Google Indexing Flash
The Big "G" now claims it's going to start indexing flash files. Many webmasters now that flash has always been a major issue when it come's to content and actually indexing that content. I think indexing flash is going to bring a lot of controversy to the SEO world. I'm sure there will be blackhat techniques, but along side those techniques are the gray and whitehats who are going to try to efficiently use what's given to them.
Many webmasters such as photographers, web design firms, graphic design firms, gave up on flash since it couldn't be indexed. Yet others gave user's the experiance of flash and sat by the wayside of Google and many other search engines. These webmasters should see a significant increase in traffic now that they will be located in the SERPs.
Web pages aren't the only flash being indexed though so are gadgets, menus, buttons and pretty much anything flash. Does this mean that when I'm searching for files and I select a flash file that seems to be what I want, but it turns out to be nothing more than a flash button that does nothing. Or will we start seeing more 'intro' pages of flash. ugh! I hate those, talk about dropping the user experiance down a notch.
Lastly noting, that those who are creating flash files to be indexed, your buttons are worthless for SEO, as Google is NOT indexing the anchor text for these buttons. Seem's a little ridiculous. I anxiously await the results of the new indexing. Until then....
