How to Start creating a website

Starting a website in theory is a simple process. There is much more than just throwing an overpriced cool website template to your server and adding a custom logo. Every good webmaster knows that behind the cool looking template and the stellar logo that you have to have compelling content that a user wants to view.

Start by finding a niche for your website, something that breaks down into a singular group of people that are all interested in a particular subject. This will give you a direct edge on competition who serves multiple audiences. Online marketing strategies are often a great way to start finding a niche.

Next you will need to start writing some content for your website. You know more than likely, that you will have a contact page or an about us page, and definitely a home page. Your home page should be funneling users down to deeper links into your site. This will ultimately drive users into looking at all your content instead of some of your content. So remember content first! Nobody wants to see 'under construction.'

Okay so now that you have a common group of people that will want to view your site, and you have compelling content to show them it's time to build your website. Depending on the webmaster, some will build a website design and then design the logo around it. Other's will get a logo first and build the design around the logo. It really doesn't matter. So long as your logo is catchy enough to stick in users head, and a design that will want to keep them coming back.

If you're not comfortable designing a website it's just as easy to find someone to do it for you. A website designer can become expensive, and if not careful in choosing the right one you can end up paying thousands of dollars for a good-for-nothing website. Be sure to ask questions about pricing, deadlines, and tell them exactly what you want.
